Music at FUMC!

In his letter to the church in Ephesus, the Apostle Paul says, “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.  Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5: 19-20)

We at First United Methodist Church believe that there is a place in the ministry of music for everyone who desires to take Paul's challenge to heart and accept music leadership as a commitment.  Although rehearsal time is necessary, we believe the spiritual growth of our membership and corporate building of our musical “body of Christ” far outweigh the “costs” of time spent!  Come and join us in the   musical family at First United Methodist Church.  Please call Chris Caffee at the church office, 779-1324 today!

Choir Clinic
Each summer FUMC Bryan sends a group of children, youth and adult choir members to attend the Texas Conference Choir Clinic

Choir clinic (or choir “camp”) is a spirited week filled with worship, song and instrumental musical development and takes place at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center near Palestine, Texas. It is during this camp that musicians of all ages and denominations come together to celebrate God through the worship arts. FUMC Bryan offers full and partial scholarships to children, youth and adults of our church who attend camp. Choir camp is always one of the first weeks of June each summer. Check the church calendar to see when choir camp is this year!
